Anca Breahna Plastic Surgeon

Fat transfer to breasts Cheshire

Fat transfer to breasts Cheshire

If you are considering breast augmentation, you should contact cosmetic surgeon Anca Breahna for fat transfer to breasts in Cheshire.

Cosmetic fat transfer is a minimally invasive surgical procedure performed by plastic surgeons to increase the size of the breast using fat cells from elsewhere in the body, usually the tummy. This procedure is sometimes called Lipofilling or autologous fat transfer

This surgery is a type of breast augmentation that is ideal for patients who only require a modest increase in the size of their breasts and who prefer not to use implants. Patients should expect their bra measurement to go by a maximum of one cup size.

Why choose Anca Breahna for fat transfer to breasts in Cheshire?

Miss Breahna is a consultant plastic surgeon at the Countess of Chester NHS Foundation Trust and is on the General Medical Council Specialist Register for Plastic Surgery.

Her excellence has been recognised by the awarding of several fellowships and awards including the Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons (FRCS Plast) and the Fellowship of the European Board of Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery (FEBOPRAS).

It is still quite rare to find a female consultant plastic surgeon and being a woman helps Miss Breahna to understand the way that her patients feel about their breast surgery. Breast reconstruction is one of Miss Breahna’s specialisms and she uses her skills in this type of cosmetic procedure to benefit the women who come to her private clinic.

Anca Breahna’s patients all benefit from her caring approach as well as her surgical skill. She always takes the time to ensure that you are completely happy and fully informed about your cosmetic procedure.

Miss Breahna’s clinic in Chester is at the Grosvenor Hospital, also known as Nuffield Health, which has been providing excellent patient care since 1975.

What happens during autologous fat transfer?

During a cosmetic fat transfer procedure, your aesthetic surgeon will use a small cannula to remove fat cells from an area of the body with a substantial amount of stored fat like the abdomen or thighs.

The small skin incisions made by the cannula are stiched and dressed. The removed fat is spun rapidly so that the blood and liquid fat separate. The fat cells are then injected into the breast with a syringe. This part of the cosmetic procedure doesn’t create a need for stitching as the injection sites are minute.

Is the procedure painful?

Your cosmetic surgeon will perform fat transfer to breast surgery under general anaesthetic to eliminate the risk of any pain during the procedure itself.

You may require pain relief after your surgery. You will be given all the medicines you require to control pain when you leave the hospital.

Fat transfer to breast aftercare

You will have a follow-up appointment one week after surgery and then at regular intervals for the first year. All patients wear a supportive garment for up to 12 weeks after breast augmentation by fat transfer. The garment is not glamorous but it will promote healing and protect your breasts while they are tender.

How long will it take to recover completely from my cosmetic procedure?

You will require two weeks of recovery time after cosmetic fat transfer and Miss Breahna usually advises her patients to take this period off work. You should be comfortable enough to drive after two weeks. If your consultant feels that you are sufficiently healed you can travel abroad after three weeks and return to the gym after your six-week check-up.

When will I see the final results of my cosmetic fat transfer?

It will take up to six months for the final results to be seen.

Are there any risks with this surgery?

Any surgery carries risks and cosmetic fat transfer for breast augmentation is no exception.

It is likely that you will experience some swelling, bruising and temporary numbness following this fat transfer procedure. All these issues will have subsided approximately a month after your procedure.

Possible but rare complications of cosmetic transfer surgery include infection, breasts of uneven shape or size, excessive bleeding, fat necrosis, oil cysts, benign calcification, problems with mammogram interpretation, and losing too much fat during the extraction process.

Am I a good candidate for fat transfer?

Crucially you will need to have sufficient fat to provide the required amount for the fat transfer. Cosmetic surgeons usually like to use fat from the abdomen or thighs for these procedures.

It is important to understand that this type of breast augmentation will only result in a modest size increase. If you would prefer to increase your bra measurement by two cups or more you will need to consider implants.

As with all cosmetic procedures, you will recover quickly and achieve optimum results if you are fit and healthy before surgery.

Mis Breahna will discuss your suitability for surgery at your initial consultation.
