- A medical referral is not required, but is recommended for Cosmetic surgery and Reconstructive surgery
How do I get a Medical / GP Referral?
- Best to see your usual Doctor or you can get a referral online from a private GP.

What payment methods do you accept?
- Klarna, Cash, Credit Cards and BACS payment. (not AMEX or Diners Club).
Do you have Payment Plans for surgery?
- We can suggest companies that can offer payment plans for your surgery.
Do you offer Medical Finance ?
- We do not offer finance; however you can approach various medical finance companies such as Chrysalis Finance.
What is the Cancellation Policy for surgery with Anca Breahna?
- Early cancellation (more than 7 days before planned treatment) a full refund will be given.
- For cancellation between 7 days and 24 hours of planned treatment cancellation. Charges of 50% of the total fee will apply.
- If you cancel within 24 hours of planned treatment or do not attend your surgery on the date it is scheduled you will be liable for the full charge.
- For any cancellation 7 days or fewer before planned treatment, where any item/s specific to your treatment has been ordered and cannot be returned, we will be entitled to charge you for such item/s unless your treatment is rescheduled within the 60 day period during which your quote remains valid.
Patient Suitability
What AGE do you need to be to have plastic surgery?
- Normally Over 18. Special conditions apply for patients under 18 – Parental consent and a GP referral is necessary for 3 months cooling off period apply for teen plastic surgery like breast reduction, ear surgery or nose surgery.
- Anca has has plastic surgery patients that are over 70 years old – depending on your overall health and wellbeing.
Can I have surgery if I smoke, vape or do recreational drugs?
- Smoking, Vaping and Drugs can interfere with your surgery and healing. Please advise us about your use of these products and you will need to completely stop their use for a period before and after surgery to ensure the safest optimal result. Complications from continued use may include skin necrosis, wound breakdown and poor aesthetic results.
What are the risks involved with plastic surgery?
- All surgery has risks and potential complications. Your overall health and pre-existing medical conditions will be assessed during the consultation. For more information – please read our Risks and Complications page.
Does Anca Breahna do revisions on surgery done overseas or performed by other surgeons?
- Anca Breahna is such a busy plastic surgeon, that she only looks after her own patients for surgical revisions – We suggest you start by going back and seeing your original surgeon.
Your Consultation
What happens at the first consultation with Anca Breahna?
- The first consultation is an opportunity for you to meet Anca Breahna and for her to get to know you. Anca will take a full history in order to establish the reason of your visit and your aims and goals and perform a complete physical examination.
- The purpose of the consultation is to inform you about the nature consequences and possible risks of the surgery you are interested in. if you have a lot of questions then you may want to write them down so that you don’t forget them on the day of your consultation. You may want to bring a friend, partner or relative with you for support and to ask questions .
- Medical photos will be taken with your written consent and the areas of concern will be discussed with you
- A quote for the procedure will be provided after the consultation upon your request. If you are certain that you wish to proceed you will be advised to attend a second consultation with Anca Breahna to have all your questions answered and you can book your surgery by contacting Anca’s practice manager.
Can I book surgery after the first consultation?
- We encourage all patients to have at least a two week “ cooling off period” to take time to think about their surgery and make sure that it is the right decision for them. You should also have a second patient consultation before surgery.
What should I bring to the patient consultation?
- Please bring your Photo ID, GP Referral if you have one , any tests or scans related to your condition and the list of medication you are currently on.
How do I get an MRI to check my breast implants?
- If you are not a current patient of Anca Breahna’s and would like an MRI to check your implants, please make an appointment with your GP for an MRI request.
How can I get an Ultrasound to check my implants?
- If you are not a current patient of Anca Breahna’s and would like an Ultrasound to check your implants, please make an appointment with your GP for an ultrasound request.
Preparing for Surgery
What should I Pack for Hospital?
- We recommend you wear something comfortable to and from the hospital. Please bring toiletries, pyjamas, anything to keep your comfortable during your hospital stay if staying overnight. A long nightgown. Long Cables and charger for your mobile phone or devices. Do not bring valuables with you.
Can I Drive myself home after surgery?
- No – you should not drive or operate mechanical equipment for 24 hours after surgery. Please arrange for someone that you trust to pick you up and support you after surgery.
Post Op Faq’s
Anca strongly believes that aftercare is the key to a successful outcome of any surgery and takes pride in providing comprehensive support through every step of your recovery. You will be given a detailed discharge plan on the day you leave the hospital.
What happens after my Surgery?
- All your follow-up appointments related to your procedure are included in your initial quote, and you can feel reassured that you have open access to return to our clinic any time you need during your recovery.
- You will be provided with a telephone number and email address to contact Anca and her team directly with any questions or concerns during the postoperative period. The hospitals where Anca works also have 24-hour medical support in case of an emergency.
When will I be seen after Surgery?
- A nurse will see you in the post-op dressing clinic in the first week after your surgery to check the wounds and Anca will see you at 2-3 weeks unless you need to see her sooner.
Will I need to take Medication after my surgery?
- Your post-op care will include a selection of pain relief medications that you may wish to use. You do not have to take all the provided pain medication but we want you to be as comfortable as possible.
Do I have to wear a Surgical Garment?
- In short, the answer is yes. Surgical compression garments are beneficial during the healing period because they offer support, help improve swelling and alleviate discomfort. This will be discussed with you at your appointment and you will be sized at your pre-surgery appointment.
When can I Shower after Surgery?
- Anca uses minimal dressings such as skin glue and tapes to allow her patients to shower once they leave the hospital.
When can I get back to Normal Activities after surgery?
- This depends on the surgery performed and your level of activity. Heavy work and sporting activities may be resumed after about 6-8 weeks or as advised by Anca Breahna. See our page on Recovery after plastic surgery for more information.
