Conditions
Breast Asymmetry – Uneven Breasts – Lopsided Breasts
Whilst a small breast asymmetry is common and not often noticeable, there are some cases where one breast is of a significantly different size than the other.
The range of the condition can vary greatly, from a slight imbalance to full development of one breast and no development of the other. It is this unevenness that is described as Breast Asymmetry. The affected person can often be left feeling self-conscious and embarrassed by their appearance, from wearing summer clothing to intimate relationships which can be negatively affected.
On average, if a significant difference in breast development has occurred by ones late teens, it is very unlikely that they will even out without medical intervention. Most women will wait until the breasts are fully developed before seeking medical advice, which is generally advisable. Major differences often justify breast asymmetry surgery. If you are concerned that your breasts are uneven, please call our office to book a consultation.
