Liposuction is available in Liverpool through acclaimed female cosmetic surgeon Anca Breahna.
The liposuction process is perfect for those who have localised pockets of fat they wish to see gone – in truth this is a problem many of us suffer from!
Also known by the names lipoplasty, liposculpture or even just lipo for short this is a procedure that will address that annoying fat which seems to simply refuse to budge.

Liposuction Treatment Areas
Many parts of the body can be treated through liposuction. The following is not an exhaustive list, instead these are some of the most common body areas we treat with liposuction.
Consider liposuction if you have excess fat in one or more of the following:
- Upper arms
- Hips and thighs
- Abdomen
- Buttocks
- Calves and ankles
- Chest
- Back
- Chin
- Neck
Liposuction will lead to a body that is more sculpted, attractive and youthful looking.
The benefits can also extend to mental health too. We all like to look our best and so treating areas of concern has profound benefits.
Liverpool Lipo Consultation
In general terms, those who are in general good health but have localised build ups of fat are suitable for liposuction treatment.
However, true suitability can not be ascertained in a web page, instead a detailed consultation would always be held.
This consultation would be your chance to talk and for Anca Breahna to listen. Why do you seek this treatment, what is your patient journey?
The surgeon’s many years of experience will then help to suggest a best plan of action.
It is worth noting that lipo is not an overall weight loss solution, it is not for those who are obese.
Instead, it tackles very targeted areas of fat build up.
The reason it is so popular is because it treats what is a problem that is almost impossible to resolve through diet and exercise alone.
However good our diet may be, however much we exercise it is incredibly hard to tackle fat in any one area. Our body actually likes to hang on to some fat deposits and so these may be the last fat to be shifted.
Consequently, someone with tummy fat, or a double chin might find that they lose weight, they feel great, they are in the health of their life and yet this localised fat remains!
Liposuction is the cure.
Exercise and diet are of course important to overall health, but they may not target the specific areas of fat you want gone – at least not at all quickly.
Liposuction, however, can immediately remove the fat.
Liposuction Procedure
For any experienced surgeon – and Anca is one of the best in Liverpool and beyond – liposuction is a relatively straightforward procedure and one they have carried out many times previously.
That. though, does not mean to say you are not unique. The precise nature of surgery will always vary.
In the operation, which is performed under general anaesthetic, small incisions are made in the area being targeted and a cannula inserted to break up the fatty tissue. A device is attached to the cannula to then suck out the fat.
The incisions are then stitched and a post-surgery compression garment applied.
It may be that this is performed as a day case, though where there is more significant fat to be removed, or multiple fat deposits in different parts of the body to address an overnight stay may be required.
In Liverpool, this would be at the wonderful Spire Murrayfield in Wirral.
Recovery Post Liposculpture
Time off work is likely to be required – whilst a straightforward procedure, this is still relatively major surgery.
The precise nature of after care will vary by patient, not least because the area of body to recover will be different, so too the amount of fat that was removed, and so too the invasiveness of the surgery itself.
Typically, a compression garment will be required and the patient may also take painkillers to manage the low-level pain that can be present.
Ms Breahna would arrange many follow-up consultations, these at regular intervals. She would, of course, also be available to answer any queries outside of these scheduled follow-ups.
Your health is our prime concern, and that includes your mental wellbeing before, during and after surgery.
Full effects of the procedure can be seen within three to six months.
For the results to persist it is important to maintain a healthy lifestyle.
The ‘Mummy Makeover’
One common application of liposuction is to combine it with breast augmentation to create the ‘mummy makeover’.
In this procedure, the fat that is grafted is then used to help augment and reshape, the breast as desired to improve their appearance too.
The name derives from the popularity of this procedure among mums who have given birth, but that is not to say these are the only candidates.
Indeed, fat grafting is a superb option for many who wish to undergo breast augmentation.
