Breast Enlargement Chester

Breast Enlargement Chester by Dr Anca Breahna

A top specialist in breast procedures, Miss Anca Breahna is a highly respected Consultant Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgeon offering breast enlargement surgery from her private practice locations in Chester and Liverpool. She sees patients at the renowned Nuffield Health The Grosvenor Hospital in Chester and at the state-of-the-art ASET Hospital in Liverpool, providing a discreet, compassionate, and exceptionally high standard of care to women across Cheshire, North Wales, Merseyside, and the Wirral.

Miss Breahna is one of the very few female plastic surgeons in Chester, which gives her a unique understanding of the physical and emotional reasons many women seek breast enhancement. Her reputation for natural results, surgical precision, and thorough aftercare has made her one of the most sought-after breast surgeons in the North West.

She holds prestigious qualifications including FRCS (Plast) and FEBOPRAS, with extensive training in some of the UK’s most renowned surgical centres. In addition to her private work, she also serves as a Consultant Plastic Surgeon at the Countess of Chester NHS Foundation Trust, focusing on breast reconstruction, skin cancer, and hand surgery.

Also known as breast augmentation, breast enlargement is one of the most popular cosmetic procedures both locally in Chester and nationally across the UK. Patients choose this transformative surgery for a variety of reasons, from enhancing naturally small breasts to restoring volume after pregnancy or weight loss, or correcting asymmetry. Regardless of the reason, Miss Breahna is committed to delivering beautiful, proportionate, and confidence-boosting results through a tailored and patient-focused approach.

Considering Breast Enlargement: What Makes a Good Candidate?

Breast enlargement can significantly enhance the appearance of naturally small or underdeveloped breasts. It is also an effective way to restore volume and shape that may have been lost due to weight loss, pregnancy, breastfeeding, or the natural ageing process. For some individuals, the procedure addresses noticeable differences in breast size or shape, helping to achieve a more symmetrical and proportionate appearance.

Many patients seek breast enlargement because their clothing no longer fits as it once did, or because they feel a decline in body confidence due to changes in breast contour. Ideal candidates are in good overall health, are non-smokers or willing to refrain from smoking before and after surgery, are over the age of 18, and have realistic expectations about what can be achieved. During the consultation, Miss Breahna carefully assesses skin quality, breast tissue, chest wall anatomy, and overall body proportions to ensure that the chosen approach results in a natural and aesthetically balanced outcome.

Options for Breast Enlargement

You may be aware that there are different options for breast enlargement in Chester when it comes to types of implant, i.e. different clinics in Chester might offer a range of implants. It is impossible to state in a page which is the right option for any patient – some would be best suited to silicone implants, others to saline. There are pros and cons with each option, including the expected lifespan for the implants. That is why a consultation is key: it is your chance to discuss your hopes for any surgery and for the experienced practitioner to talk you through the options and suggest a best plan of action.

Added options include: textured vs smooth surface implants; round vs anatomical shapes; various profiles (low, moderate, high) depending on how much projection you want; and placement – under the chest muscle (sub‑muscular), above it (sub‑glandular) or a “dual plane” placement. Also choice of incision site (below the breast fold; around the areola) which affects scarring and healing. Another option is combining breast implants with fat grafting (fat transfer) to smooth contours or improve upper breast fullness.

The Procedure

Your Journey Begins with a Consultation

  • Initial Consultation
The process starts with a detailed one-on-one consultation. This is your opportunity to express your goals, concerns, and expectations. Miss Breahna will listen carefully and conduct a thorough assessment of your anatomy to determine the best approach. You’ll also have the chance to ask questions and get a clear understanding of what to expect before, during, and after surgery.
  • Assessing Surgeon Fit
This initial meeting also helps you decide whether Miss Breahna is the right surgeon for you. You should feel comfortable, well-informed, and confident in her expertise and approach to patient care.

Day of Surgery

  • Pre-operative Markings and Photography
On the day of surgery, a series of pre-operative photographs will be taken. Miss Breahna will then mark the planned incision sites directly on your skin while you are standing, to ensure proper positioning.
  • Incision and Placement Options
Incisions are most commonly made in the natural crease under the breast. In some cases, they may be placed around the areola to help conceal any scarring. Implant placement may be:

    • Between the breast tissue and chest muscle (subglandular)
    • Beneath the chest muscle (submuscular)
  • The choice depends on your anatomy, skin quality, implant size, and desired outcome.

During the Procedure

  • Surgical Duration and Anaesthesia
The operation typically lasts between 1 to 2 hours and is performed under general anaesthetic for your comfort and safety.
  • Fat Grafting When Needed
In some cases, fat grafting (also called lipofilling) may be used in addition to implants. This helps refine breast contours or add volume in specific areas using your own body fat, usually taken from the abdomen or thighs.
  • Sterile Technique and Wound Closure
All procedures are performed in a sterile environment. Once the implants or fat grafts are placed, Miss Breahna closes the incisions using layered sutures to support optimal healing. Sterile dressings and a medical support bra are applied immediately after surgery.

Preparation Before Surgery

  • Pre-operative Instructions
You’ll be given detailed guidance prior to surgery, including advice on fasting, avoiding certain medications or supplements, and arranging transport to and from the hospital. Following these instructions carefully is essential for your safety and comfort.

Recovery & Aftercare

Recovery times vary, but typically:

  • Overnight stay at the hospital
  • 1‑2 weeks off work for most people (longer if job is physically demanding)
  • Avoid strenuous upper body movements and heavy lifting for at least 4‑6 weeks
  • Normal daily activities gradually restored, full exercise by ~10‑12 weeks

Swelling, bruising, temporary numbness are expected and improve over time. Wearing the prescribed support garment or bra, following wound care instructions, attending follow‑ups, and keeping well hydrated and resting all help ensure smoother healing.

Benefits and What to Look for in Results

Breast enlargement offers both physical enhancement and emotional benefits. Miss Anca Breahna’s approach focuses on creating natural, balanced results tailored to each patient’s body and goals.

Key Benefits

  • Improved Shape and Symmetry
Surgery enhances breast volume, corrects asymmetry, and restores shape lost through ageing, weight changes, or pregnancy.
  • Boosted Confidence
Many patients feel more comfortable in their own skin, enjoying a greater sense of body confidence and freedom in clothing choices.
  • Better Clothing Fit
Fuller, more proportionate breasts often improve the fit of bras, dresses, and swimwear, making shopping and daily wear more enjoyable.
  • Long-Lasting Results
Modern implants are durable and designed to last many years. With proper care and monitoring, results remain stable and aesthetically pleasing over time.

What to Expect from High-Quality Results

Miss Breahna places strong emphasis on proportion, subtlety, and natural contours.

  • Results should suit your frame and lifestyle, not just increase size
  • Scars are discreetly placed and fade over time with proper care
  • Shape, softness, and symmetry are prioritised to ensure the breasts look and feel natural

Fat Transfer as Alternative or Addition

In some cases, fat transfer (lipofilling) is offered either instead of implants or in conjunction with them to refine shape. This uses your own fat from areas like thighs or abdomen. It allows more natural feel, less invasive incisions, and helps correct asymmetry or contour irregularities. However it may offer only a modest increase in volume compared with implants.

FAQs About Breast Enlargement

Can I still go for a dip in the River Dee after surgery?

Not right away. While wild swimming is popular in Chester, it’s best to avoid lakes, rivers, and even pools for at least 6 weeks post-surgery. Your incisions need time to heal properly, and untreated water can increase the risk of infection. Stick to scenic walks along the Dee during recovery instead.

Will my breast implants set off the Chester Cathedral security scanners?

No, breast implants do not contain any metal components that would trigger scanners. You’ll have no trouble exploring Chester’s historic sites post-surgery (once you’re feeling up to it, of course).

Can I have my consultation in a Cheshire accent?

Absolutely. Miss Breahna sees many local patients from Chester, Ellesmere Port, Northwich, and beyond. Whether your accent is pure Cheshire or a bit Scouse, Wrexham, or Wirral, rest assured you’ll be listened to with care and understanding.

Can my breast implants freeze in cold weather up in Delamere Forest?

Thankfully, no. Breast implants are made from materials that remain stable inside the body regardless of external temperatures. You can enjoy your frosty forest walks without worry.

Can I choose a size based on how it’ll look at Chester Races?

Funny you should ask — many patients do consider specific social events, like Chester Races, weddings, or holidays, when planning their new look. During your consultation, you’re welcome to bring clothing (or even that showstopper race day dress) to try on with sizing samples.

Will I be able to wear my Barbour jacket or winter coat after surgery?

You might find arm movement a little restricted for the first week or two. A looser jacket with a zip or front opening is ideal. That said, Chester winters won’t stop you from dressing stylishly — just maybe leave the tight tweed for later.

Is there a ‘Chester look’ when it comes to breast enlargement?

Not officially — but many local patients request natural, proportionate results that suit their lifestyle, work, and social settings. Miss Breahna tailors each procedure to your preferences, whether you prefer subtle elegance or a more enhanced shape.

Can I use Chester Park & Ride after my surgery?

Not immediately. For at least a week, you should avoid driving, especially if you’re still on pain medication. Someone will need to drive you to and from Nuffield or ASET. Once cleared to drive, the Park & Ride is back on the table.

Will my breasts glow under UV lights at Rosies or Cruise nightclub?

Highly unlikely. Implants are not made with any materials that glow under UV lighting. However, you may still attract attention — for all the right reasons.
